Sometimes life gets us down, and we want to have a pity party.
Here are five steps that you need to change pity to power by using the word P-O-W-E-R.
P – Ponder what went wrong.
First, you have to think about the “P” in the word power.
Ponder what went wrong — what has you in this pitiful state?
O – Only you can pull yourself up.
Remember that only you can pull yourself up and prepare so that you can bounce back from the setback.
W – What’s holding you back?
Whenever you feel pitiful about some mistake you made, some failure, or some disappointment, think about what’s holding you back.
Look at your circle and see who’s pulling you back and not pushing you up.
When we can figure out what’s holding us back, we can change pity to power.
E – Embrace change.
Sometimes when we have a setback, we have to look at it and realize that if we keep doing the same thing over and over, we won’t make progress. It’s what Einstein calls insanity.
So when you keep having a problem, embrace change and try to move forward.
R – Eliminate risky behaviors.
We all have them. Maybe we procrastinate. Maybe we don’t write down our goals.
And so if we’re going to change pity to power, we have to —
P – Ponder what went wrong.
O – Know that only we can change it.
W – Look at what’s holding us back.
E – Embrace change.
R – Get rid of risky behaviors.
I hope you find these five steps helpful.
The next time you want to have a pity party, have a power party.
