TI am excited because yes, I’m a graduate of the University of Alabama, and anytime Alabama does well, I do well. So let me first disclose that hats off to the Crimson Tide for making it to the national football playoffs.
If we just follow Jalen Milroe, the quarterback of the Crimson tide over just this season, you can see how someone can be down and put out where naysayers. People were saying nothing but negative things about this young man when he was benched from being the starting quarterback.
Now three to four months later, everyone is saying how great Jalen Milroe is. But let me tell you what’s the point that we can learn from this.
The reason I like football and sports is because it teaches us life lessons.
Life is variable and life happens and life is not always fair.
I’m sure he didn’t think it was fair when he was benched and had to sit on that bench from being the starting quarterback. But when those things happen to us in our lives, what we have to do is study during adversity.
What can we do to improve ourselves?
How can we be single-focused so that we can propel to excellence?
And that’s exactly what he did. He became single-focused.
He committed, and he had the courage to say, “I’m going to improve”, and look where he is today. So hats off to Jaylen Milroe, but hats off to what we can also do when we are faced with an adversity. If we simply have the attitude that we are never giving up, we are gonna be single focused and focus on improving one aspect of our personal game in life so that we can achieve our goals.
