Think Like Lebron James – 5 Keys To A Winning Mindset

Mar 5, 2024 | Tip for a Terrific Tuesday

Let’s talk about what it takes to have a winning mindset. We can learn a lot from a basketball game if we apply the principles to our life. Recently, I was watching LeBron James as he and the Lakers played the Clippers.

It was in the 4th quarter and the Lakers were down by 21 points. LeBron James, being the GOAT that he is, he scored 19 points in the 4th quarter. In all my years of watching basketball, I’ve never seen a professional player do that.

What do we learn from that? What we learn is when our backs are against the wall, we have to stay focused on our goals and work on developing a winning mindset. And what we have to do is remember 5 keys that we can learn from just watching LeBron in that game.

1. Don’t lose sight of your ultimate goal and keep visualizing your goal.

2. Delete the junk in your mind. Sometimes when we have a goal and it seems like our back is against the wall, we keep hearing the junk and the naysayers, but we have to keep pushing that delete button so that we can delete the jump from our mind.

3. We can’t be intimidated. As LeBron played that game, as he became more intense, he became more powerful, and he paid attention to the details and kept visualizing how he could win the game.
And this is what we too must and how he could win the game. And this is what we too must do if we’re gonna accomplish our goals. We have to not be intimidated.

4. We can’t let a past failure define us. You know, the good thing about athletes is they have a short memory.

When they miss a goal, or miss a point, you have to have a short memory and keep shooting, keep shooting, and that’s what we do. When we have a failure, we have to have a short memory and keep trying and keep trying until we perfect the skill and improve what we are trying to do.

5. And the 5th and most important thing is you have to be like a LeBron James and just do your thing. Determine what you need to do to be the best version of you. And when you do that, you will eliminate self doubt.

I hope that you can use this basketball game where Lebron James scored 19 points in the 4th quarter to show you how you too can reach your goals if you just don’t become intimidated, delete the jump, and don’t doubt yourself when your back is against the wall.

Hopefully these strategies would be beneficial to you. Try them this week, And let’s see if you too can accomplish your goals.
