I want you to think during these holiday seasons, the importance of just counting your blessings. Sometimes we don’t think that we have things to be grateful for. Earlier I was in the airport, and yes, I was complaining about the long security lines, and a lady approached me and said, “Do you think I can go to the sky cap and they will let me move faster?”
But the sign said sky cap was priority. And I said, sure, “I’m sure you can go over there if you give them a tip.” She went over there and they let her in the line and took her luggage and oh, how happy she was. As I chatted with her, I said, “Where are you headed?” She responded, “I’m headed to a funeral, a funeral of my two young cousins who died, and their three children are on ventilators.”
You see there I was complaining about being in a long line and look what this lady was dealing with. Sometimes you never know what the person who approaches you, what they’re going through. If you could just put your hand out, sometimes when you’re in public with a person who’s just an arm left in front or behind you, and they would trade your problems in a minute for theirs. So I just shared a sad story with you. Do you realize that every moment that you spend with your loved one is valuable?
Think about that as you move through the holiday season. Not that we are looking at other people’s misery, but we want to understand that life is fragile and how precious it is. If you can just hold onto that thought as you go into the holiday and the new year, this is my tip for a Terrific Tuesday.
